Penguin Diner Celebrates a Brand New Look
After weeks of renovation, the Penguin Diner debuted its brand new look and reopened its doors to the public on Friday, April 24. Updates to the restaurant include a new “icy blue” color scheme, updated bar, walls and flooring, specially-made lighting fixtures and new artwork adorning the walls. “We’re so excited…our new look, our new décor- everybody’s worked so hard for this day and we’re really excited about this summer,” said owner Katie McLeod at Thursday’s ribbon cutting.
The restaurant’s décor is not all that’s been updated. Changes have been made to the menu as well at this family-owned, farm-to-table restaurant. Some additions include real Maryland Fresh Crab and fresh fish. “We’re going to have an all-new dinner menu…From Coastal Coffee Works to Teddy Bear Fresh to Big Fish and Lewes Fish we want to keep it local,” explained McLeod, “except kind of tipping our hats to our New England roots in Vermont.” These Vermont roots include serving real imported Pure Vermont Maple Syrup with their all-day breakfast menu.
Current hours for the Penguin Diner are Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with extended hours on Open Mic Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, check out their website at www.penguindiner.com.
