Housing Partners and Committee Members Sought for International Student Program
HOUSING PARTNERS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS SOUGHT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM
In the next step of launching the new International Student Outreach Program (ISOP) of the Quiet Resorts, partners are being sought to house international students, serve on a committee or provide a meal or cultural experience. All who are interested are welcome to attend the next meeting on Tuesday, March 29th at the South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach beginning at 4:30 p.m. The primary objective of this meeting is to identify community members who are interested in housing international students or serve actively on the ISOP planning committee. Every year, the J-1 Visa program provides countless opportunities here in the Quiet Resorts for students to gain access to educational resources or receive on the job training for a specified length of time. Several hundreds of international candidates come to Sussex County each year to be part of the program and boost the seasonal workforce. With an anticipated shortage in housing for 2016, rental companies or private hosts are being sought to provide student housing. In addition, volunteers are being recruited to grow the new International Student Outreach Program as a whole.
The International Student Outreach Program (ISOP) of the Quiet Resorts is dedicated to easing the transition into the area with orientation classes and bike safety courses. The program also seeks to provide assistance in securing housing, offering meals and organizing cultural events. All are encouraged to attend next ISOP meeting on Tuesday, March 29th at the South Coastal Library beginning at 4:30 p.m. The South Coastal Library is located at 43 Kent Avenue in Bethany Beach.
