Frank Dobson Appointed as Delaware State Chair for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Frank Dobson as the new State Chair for Delaware. In this significant volunteer leadership role, Dobson will lead the Delaware ESGR committee in its mission to foster a culture of understanding and support between Guard and Reserve service members and their civilian employers.
ESGR, a Department of War program established in 1972, is dedicated to promoting supportive work environments for service members in the Reserve Components. This is achieved through a variety of outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) for both employers and service members.
Delaware is home to approximately 4,792 members of the National Guard and Reserve. These dedicated citizen-Service members are regularly deployed missions and frequently deployed in support of both federal and state missions.
“We are thrilled to welcome Frank Dobson to this vital leadership role,” said John Sampa, National Chair for ESGR. “His dedication and experience will be a tremendous asset as we continue to support our nation’s dedicated Servicemembers and their civilian employers.”
Under his leadership, the Delaware ESGR committee will continue to offer a range of crucial services, including informal mediation to resolve conflicts that may arise from an employee’s military duties. The committee will also champion the ESGR awards program, which recognizes supportive employers with prestigious awards like the Patriot Award and the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The efforts of the State Chair and dedicated volunteers are essential to the readiness of our nation’s armed forces, as nearly half of the country’s military strength resides in the National Guard and Reserve.
