The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce encourages everyone to support local businesses this holiday season with its annual shop local initiatives. Shop Local Extravaganza, Weekend Wonderland in Bethany Beach, and Festive Fridays in Fenwick Island return to the Quiet Resorts® area, offering in-store raffles, activities, and chances for grand prizes that coincide with town festivities.

Shop Local Extravaganza returns for its tenth year on Saturday, November 28^th, December 5^th, and December 12^th. Customers who shop, dine, stay and play at participating businesses receive a chance to win in-store raffle prizes where applicable and the $250 grand prize gift card! Last year’s event featured 48 local businesses and 33 in-store prizes across the towns of Bethany Beach, Dagsboro, Fenwick Island, Frankford, Millville, Ocean View, Selbyville, and South Bethany. The grand prize drawing will take place on Friday, December 18^th.

In partnership with the Town of Bethany Beach and Coastal Point newspaper, the Chamber welcomes Weekend Wonderland back to Bethany Beach on December 5^th, 12^th, and 19^th! The fun kicks off on December 5^th with the Town of Bethany’s annual tree lighting ceremony on the bandstand at 5:00 p.m. Each Saturday, participating businesses will feature holiday specials and in-store attractions, including visits from Santa and an Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt, for the chance to win raffle prizes. The Town will also host pony rides, a party with Santa, and trolley rides on Saturday, December 5^th. The Town’s Christmas at the Cottages featuring special activities at Dinker-Irvin Cottage will take place on Saturday, December 12^th. Trolley tours to see the decoration displays from Coastal Christmas Showdown will run on November 28^th, December 5^th, 12^th, and 19^th by reservation.

Festive Fridays in Fenwick Island continues the fun at Fenwick’s shops, boutiques, and restaurants on Friday, December 4^th, 11^th, and 18^th. Last year, over 15 Fenwick businesses featured specials, deals, and festivities on Fridays in December. The Town of Fenwick Island’s Tree Lighting Ceremony will help kick off the fun at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 4^th, featuring carolers, hot chocolate, and more.

These events bring a welcome reminder of the community impact that accompanies supporting locally owned businesses.
