Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery announces Zoë DeLuca-Hewetson as new Head Winemaker
FRANKFORD, DE — July 23, 2026 — Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery, a family-owned estate winery and destination venue nestled on 26 acres in Frankford, Delaware, is pleased to announce the appointment of Zoë DeLuca-Hewetson as Head Winemaker, effective July 1, 2026.
DeLuca-Hewetson brings an exceptional international background in viticulture and oenology, having trained and worked across four continents and some of the world’s most respected wine regions. She holds a double degree with Honours in Viticulture and Oenology from Brighton University in the United Kingdom and has built her career through hands-on winemaking experience spanning Burgundy, France; South Australia; New Zealand; Germany; Sonoma County, California; and the Mid-Atlantic region.
Most recently, she served as an Oenologist at Stonestreet Vineyards and Matanzas Creek Winery under Jackson Family Wines — one of the country’s most prominent wine portfolios — where she managed production across red, white, sparkling, and late harvest wines. She also led harvest oenology for Gloria Ferrer’s sparkling wine program, one of California’s premier méthode champenoise producers. Her international harvest experience includes stints at A&P de Villaine in Burgundy, France — where she developed a deep passion for Pinot Noir — as well as Whitehaven Wine Company in New Zealand, Chapel Down Vineyard in the United Kingdom, and Berri Estates Winery in South Australia, at the time the largest winery in the Southern Hemisphere.
“Zoë stood out immediately — her passion for winemaking was evident from the start, and her international experience, particularly in sparkling wines, is exactly what we were looking for,” said Adrian Mobilia, Owner of Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery. “I would love to see Salted Vines really embrace sparkling wines going forward, and Zoë is the perfect person to lead that charge.”
DeLuca-Hewetson’s appointment marks a new chapter for Salted Vines, which currently produces ten to fourteen varietals ranging from bone-dry whites to full-bodied reds. Lauren McCoy, who served as winemaker from 2020 to 2026, has transitioned to the role of Tasting Room Manager, where she’ll continue to bring her deep knowledge of Salted Vines’ wines directly to guests.
Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery is open to the public year-round and is widely recognized as a destination for live music, community events, and estate-grown wines crafted on-site in Frankford, Delaware. The winery has been named Best Winery in Delaware and Best of Coastal Style, and draws visitors from across the Delmarva Peninsula and beyond.
