Ben Fournier’s Camp New Hope Fundraiser
Greenville, Del. – Ben Fournier’s Camp New Hope Fundraiser raised over $10,000 last night. The Fundraiser was held at Brandywine Brewing Company in Greenville on Thursday, February 11th.
Local photographer, Ben Fournier invited the community to come together to support him as he celebrated 25 years of volunteering for Camp New Hope, a free four day summer camp for grieving children and teens. In honor of his 25th anniversary of volunteering for Camp New Hope, Ben wanted to help raise money for this special cause and offered to host a fundraiser.
Guest bartenders battled to raise funds and awareness for Camp New Hope. Patrons were able to tip their favorite bartender and 100% of guest bartender tips were donated to Camp New Hope. A special thank you to all of our bartenders: Scott Gates, Gale Ferranto, Ray Ianni, Jen Lee, Renee Lickle, Shanon Miller Epley, Dave Nichols, Joe Renzi, Bill Stevenson, Danuta Szewczyk Saitis, Anthony Troy, and Andrew White.
Everyone had a great time showing their support for this wonderful cause. “I could not have asked for a better celebration,” commented Ben Fournier. “Camp as been a true love of mine and I am excited that I could bring awareness and a few dollars to Camp this year!” The evening included a live jazz performance by Tony Cimorisi & Nick Esposito and the vocal talent of Mark DiMattio.
In the past 26 years, New Hope has worked with close to 10,000 grieving children and teens. Counselors provide support and education on positive coping strategies during children’s rollercoaster of emotions. New Hope relies on the generosity and support from the community and Delaware Hospice to fund the program each year. Camp New Hope is the capstone of the nationally recognized New Hope program. About 100 campers throughout the state will attend one of two four day summer day camps.
